This is the Stenstaka farm’s old boathouse, a stone’s throw from the jetty on the headland with a stunning view out over Dalbosjön. When we fitted out the cottage for overnight use we were proud to be able to saw the wall panels from larch trees planted by skipper Lurén in the early 1900s.
The ground floor has two bunk beds and a table with benches. Stepladders take you up to two separate sleeping lofts, with two mattresses in one and three in the other. The floorplan is open, and is ideal for a couple of families or a group of friends. The cottage has electric lighting, but you’ll need to keep it warm by keeping the efficient iron stove heated. A verandah with a small storeroom is under construction. Total nine beds.
